For the rest of the weekend, I'm going to have a John Hughes-a-thon. My inner teenager just let me know he's very sad.
- Music:Any song from sixteen candles, pretty in pink or the breakfast club
I picked up a Vostro A90 about two weeks ago, and within 10 minutes of opening the box, I'd replaced half of the parts with after market items to make it better faster and stronger. 10 min after that, it was running a completely new OS. I love this little thing. I settle down in front of the TV, open the lid up and catch up on everything. Super awesome, boot time of 25 secs and shutdown of 10. Makes it really easy to surf.
I have a feeling I might take advantage of this a site a little more from now on.

Back to work after five days off, and I'm dragging. The clock is not my friend.
Don't eat chili covered burritos and wash it down with a couple of beers if you have to work the next day. Or be in close proximity to anyone.
Sweet Jebus, I could fuel a methane power plant right now.

Some videos don't need to be shared. Honest. Most just prove how unintelligent the rest of humanity is.
I won my Fantasy Football league. Sweet! Good money is headed my way.
Before these past couple of months, I had a love/hate relationship with printers. Now after being assigned printer detail for the company as one of my many duties, I've found that I hate printers with a passion. There's nothing I want to do with them anymore. I can't stand the testing they need me to do. It wouldn't have been so bad, but they changed the parameters three times, so I've been forced to do the testing fully three times and it's more and more mind numbing each and every time.
That is all.
I hate the fact that I can't fix anything that isn't a computer. It's currently leaving me in the state of waiting that is the handyman/plumber lifestyle. I make arrangments last week to have work done on the house, and it's still a "we'll be there between 2 and 4". While better than the average cable installation where it's between 9 and 5, it still sucks. You'd think, at some point there will be an uprising.
Cause I'm not going to take it anymore.

Contrary to popular belief, I've not fallen off the face of the planet, I'm just up to my ears in house projects. A little remodel here, removal of years of junk mail there, laundry up to my ears and don't even get me started about lawn work. I don't even want to contemplate it.
Stacey actually had a neighbor ask if we planned on doing anything with the yard soon. Granted, they are retired, so they seem to think everyone else has the same amount of free time.
Loving my brand new 22" monitor. It's nice to finally have something new for the computer system. Now if I could only convince the wife to slow down on projects that require money, so we might be able to save for a few things that we need outside of house projects. Like, a new windshield wiper chip in my steering column of my truck. I've only been dealing with that problem now for four years and I'm getting sick and tired of pulling over when it rains because I can't see.

As I get older, I find I get less wise. For instance, last night, I should have realized that after not having more than a drink or two in one sitting, it's a really bad idea to not only mix what you're drinking, but to drink like you used to when you drank all the time.
And my wife made lentils for dinner.
Nothing could be nastier than a lentil-beer fart.
Trust me on that one.

I got my X-mas present early, an iPod nano. It's awesome. That is all.
Just a quick update, got a new job in the same company which rocks. Life is good. House work sucks. DVR's are good, and satellite is awesome. I love hockey even more than ever, and I need more jerseys to supplement my wardrobe. My quick take on the first year of marriage: Good times. I'm barely ever on my home computer anymore (see the "house work sucks" comment for any questions).
Holy Pieces of Cow, iTunes 7 is taking 140 MB of memory to run!?????? Serious bloatware.
About a week ago, I got a lump on one side of my face. It got bigger over the next two days and started to hurt. And by bigger, I mean it looked huge. Went in to the doctor, who instantly puts me on the next anti-biotic past amoxicilin, so basically one of the stronger ones available without being hooked to an IV. Then she has me go to my normal doctor the next morning. I guess if I hadn't gone in it had the potential to really get nasty.
I love that I get every other off in the Summer. I don't even mind that I have to work the others. It's the fact that the air conditioning gets turned off at noon when almost everyone else leaves that makes it tough. It's only about 75 at this point, but you could cut the air in the building because it's so humid.

Where the TV has 180 channels and is always on. The beer's in the fridge and the couch is comfortable.
Good lord, it's been a long time since I could watch that much stuff. Stacey just wanted a five minute headstart on sleep and it turned into 2.5 hour showcase of how there is always something on to watch when you have that many things to choose from. I tried one night about a month ago to give her the five minute lead, and I almost didn't make it because of the six stations I could get well, for some ungodly reason, three of them were playing Will & Grace. Yikes!
I'm sure my fascination will pass, but the TV will remain....

...that my wife and I had a meaningful conversation later that evening, but only if screaming at each other was considered meaningful. We did however have a nice conversation last night that did not involve loud voices or swearing at each other. So, the entertainment package is still on, and that's cool.
Can't wait for the weekend so I can see my friends again, and finally get out to see a movie. I'd love to see more movies in the theater. Most times I'd rant about how much I hate the cell phones and the little kids brought to inappropriate shows, but the fact of the matter is: It's way cooler to sit in a darkened room with a sound system that few people could ever have in their home watching a screen four times your own height. Too bad my wife is not really a movie sort of person. We have a ton in common, just not when it comes to almost anything pop culture related. I have been able to get her to watch Sci-Fi shows thought, which is nice, cause otherwise there would be a heck of a lot of time apart from one another. Or I'd have to learn to deal with next to no sleep as I watch the taped show of the day after she went to sleep.
